I had a couple more thoughts after I wrote this:

1. J-Hope is the bridge between the rap line and the vocal line as well. We've all experienced the crisp notes that he hits!

2. He is the bridge between the hyungs and the maknae too. He is a few months older than RM, but both he and RM possess leadership qualities useful to the band.
